American Idiot
August 21 - 31, 2025
Winner of two Tony Awards, American Idiot follows Johnny, Tunny, and Will—three friends grappling with identity, purpose, and disillusionment in a post-9/11 world. Their paths diverge as they confront the pull of city life, the realities of war, love, addiction, and responsibility.
Told almost entirely through music, the production features every song from Green Day’s iconic American Idiot album along with select tracks from 21st Century Breakdown. With minimal dialogue, this electrifying rock opera captures the angst and urgency of a generation.
This milestone production (our 100th production!) reflects PACA’s decade-long commitment to bold, inclusive, and boundary-pushing art in Erie. As a cornerstone of the local arts community, PACA provides affordable rehearsal and performance spaces, supports artists across disciplines, and fosters an environment where creativity thrives.
When you buy a ticket to American Idiot, you're not just seeing a show, you're fueling the future of local arts. Proceeds support the transformation of PACA's 5th floor into a vibrant creative hub. Thanks to a generous match by Tom Hagen, every dollar raised will be doubled - up to $500,000 - as part of our Rise with PACA campaign.
