Ripcord
Ripcord is a dark comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire that centers on a high-stakes, increasingly chaotic battle of wits between two elderly women in an assisted living facility.
Abby Binder, a sharp-tongued resident at the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, has made an art form out of forcing her roommates to move out. When the relentlessly optimistic Marilyn Dunne moves in, Abby assumes she will easily scare her away as well. Marilyn, however, refuses to budge and challenges Abby to a bet.
What begins as a series of harmless pranks quickly escalates into a dangerous, and often hilarious, game of one-upmanship. As the battle rages on, a well-meaning Scotty and members of their estranged families are forced to confront deeper, painful truths about their pasts.
Starring Peggy Hauser, Betsy Butoryak, Jordan Gilmore, Bryan Prior, Coreen Scott, & Bryan Toy. Directed by Howard Lang and assistant directed by Kenna Stevens.
