Bad Auditions by Bad Actors

Dawn Sears is thrilled to be gracing the PACA stage for the first time. With over 30 years of theatre experience, some of her favorite roles have included "Mary Magdelene" in Jesus Christ Superstar, "Lucy" in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and most recently "Vi Moore" in Footlose. When not on the stage, she can be found hanging out with her wife and 5 cats watching True Crime shows!

Wayne is excited to be back performing at PACA, especially with such an awesome cast. One of Wayne's favorite parts of theatre is performing with actors he hasn't been on stage with previously. This is his 3rd production at PACA including one of his bucket list roles as Fr. Wisinsky in Spooks.

A lifelong fan of the theater and is thrilled to be making his debut with the PACA theater. Devin splits his time between acting, volunteering and working as a quality inspector. He would like to thank the cast, crew, and his incredibly supportive friends and family for always cheering him on.

This is my first PACA show and I'm so excited to be back on stage performing. I've been involved in theatre since third grade and took a short break. I'm happy to be back performing with such a talented cast!

I am delighted to be in this zany comedy. PACA afforded me my first ever acting opportunity in 2024's "Getting Out," during which I came down with an incurable case of performance fever! I am ever grateful to cast, director, and crew for their comraderie and support.

Bryson Berkowitz is pleased to make his debut with PACA. His previous credits include Mean Girls, 1776, and The Elephant Man at the Erie Playhouse. He also originated the role of Hans Gruber in the North American premiere of A Good Panto: Die Hard at Gannon University's Schuster Theatre. This fall, he will begin his freshman year at Gannon University, where he will pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.

Renee Tellers is happy to be back on the PACA stage. She last graced the PACA stage as Stephanie the president's secretary in POTUS. When she's not on stage she is often found in the orchestra pit playing violin or viola. Renee is also a co-host of the history podcast Time Tellers with our Tech Director Dan and violinist for the band Comic Book Villains.

Megan Harrison was asked to write a biography but is currently wanted for replacing every theatre ghost with a slightly louder one. Authorities also suspect her of teaching raccoons how to strike scenery, convincing a fog machine it deserved top billing, and releasing 437 emotional support crows during intermission "for atmosphere." She has never lost a fight with a folding chair, has been banned from six escape rooms for escaping before entering, and once received a standing ovation from an empty auditorium after arguing with the acoustics for forty five minutes. Experts have repeatedly asked her to "please stop doing whatever this is," but no one has been able to define what "this" is. If tonight's performance goes well, she accepts full credit. If it doesn't, the louder ghosts are legally responsible.

Jordan is excited to be returning to the PACA stage in Bad Auditions by Bad Actors, after previous appearances as Dave Caro in Between Riverside and Crazy, various roles in PACA Palooza, Henry in The Fantasticks, Zanth and other roles in Weird Romance, Scotty in Ripcord and Fipp and Tiny Tom in Urinetown. Other prior roles include Father in Lake Erie Ballet Company's Nutcracker Reimagined, Jack Gable in Ken Ludwig's Leading Ladies, Dan Shapiro in Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls and Elwood P. Dowd in Harvey. Jordan is truly appreciative of this cast and crew, and extremely thankful for everyone who came out to see this very funny show.

Marnie Foss is happy to be on the PACA stage again. She recently performed in Journey to the Poles of Inaccessibility, and shambled her way across the stage in Rocky Horror, Gorey Stories and others. When not on stage she can be found in the audience of all the wonderful productions the city has to offer, and volunteering at various galleries and events in Erie.

I have done choir for 6 years and theatre for two years. I just recently graduated General McLane High School having done Broadway Dinner my junior and senior year. This will be my first PACA production as well as anything outside of school. I am hoping to participate in theatre while I am in college in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.

Char Newport is happy to return to the PACA stage in this absolutely ridiculous show. She believes that playing two roles is not enough to showcase her many personalities, but it will have to do.

This is my first stage production, and I'm delighted to be joining the cast of this hilarious comedic twist on Romeo and Juliet. Adding this adventure to my "Life List" has been one of the many joys of retirement. Before retiring five years ago, I was an elementary teacher and later a college professor of Early Childhood Education. I'm grateful to the director, cast, and crew for making my first theatrical foray a fun-filled learning experience.

You will have previously seen Emma in Charley's Aunt, A Mysterious Affair at Styles, Gibbson and Sons, and, of course, Legally Gray. In a highly specific career trend, every role except the last involved playing an orphan who was somehow married off before the final curtain. Thanks for coming out to support live theatre!

Jeff is the Artistic Director of PACA, and has produced, directed and has been involved in hundreds of performances over the past 40 years. This is the third play by Ian McWethy that he has directed at PACA, following 13 Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview and 14 More Ways to Screw Up Your College Interview in 2015 and 2021. His next project is Attack of the PACA on August 7th and 8th.

Ian McWethy has written over 60 plays that regularly receive over 1,000 productions every year, produced in all 50 states and in over 50 countries abroad. He has also co-written two novels with Carrie McCrossen, Margot Mertz Takes It Down and Margot Mertz For The Win, published by Penguin Random House.

Before there was a PACA, there was a kid from Erie who fell in love with the stage. Mark Tanenbaum has been part of Erie's arts scene since he first laced up his dance shoes with the Erie Civic Ballet Company. In 2010, he turned a historic 1899 building on State Street into a true home for independent, progressive performing arts. Since then, PACA has become a gallery, a comedy club, a dance studio, and a community where Erie's artists have a stage to call their own.
