After much discussion and multiple site visits by Erie County Health Department and an infectious disease specialist, PACA is proud to announce that we will reopen our theatre with a production of CIRCUMFERENCE OF A SQUIRREL by John Walch, April 09-24th, 2021.
PACA has taken great pains to ensure the safety of our cast, crew, and audience for this LIVE theatre experience. Some notes:
CIRCUMFERENCE OF A SQUIRREL features one main actor, who will be on stage at least 6ft away from all members of the audience. There are a few voice-over roles in this production that will be performed by actors contained within their own booths. In addition there will be a Plexiglas barrier hanging between the audience and actor. Stage blocking will be adjusted so the actor consistently maintains 6ft between them and the audience.
Rehearsals for the show will consist of the actor, the director, and one crew member. All crew will wear masks, be temperature checked, and complete a health survey prior to rehearsal. Social distancing will be maintained whenever possible.
Seating for the performance will be limited to 25-30 persons, including cast and crew. This falls below Governor's Green Phase Guidelines, under entertainment guidance, which allows for 20% capacity. Seating will be staggered, and audience members will have assigned seats, so that household groups are seated together, but ensuring 6ft of distance between audience members both side-to-side and front-to-back. Additional plexiglass will be installed to provide additional protection.
PACA will also require masks of all patrons at all times. Masks will be provided for those without. Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance, exit, and throughout the theatre. Temperature checks and a COVID-19 questionnaire will be required of anyone entering the theatre. PACA will collect all audience member's contact information in case of an instance where contact tracing becomes necessary. Our restrooms will operate on a reduced capacity - no more than two (2) at a time.
PACA's physical plant has also undergone a deep cleaning. Our ventilation system has been cleaned/checked and provides adequate ventilation as required. We have reduced touch points in the theatre and gallery, and will not sell food or drink to reduce transmission. We will disinfect all high touch points after every show. This includes the elevator buttons/doors, the chairs and benches, pads on the benches, door knobs, pens, ticket booth counter, banisters in the stairwell and bathrooms.
Entry to the show will be by ONLINE RESERVATION ONLY! No walk-ins will be permitted. For those patrons who are still not comfortable attending in-person, a live stream option is available.
